The Judge is an entertainment app where an AI judge settles everyday arguments between friends. It is built to keep as little about you as possible, for as short a time as possible.
Who we are
The Judge is run by Hamza Abrahim in Minnesota, USA. Questions or requests: arrowabrahim888@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
- What you tell the court. Your name as you type it, the case title, your side, your answers to the judge's questions, appeal text, and what you're suing for. We use it only to run your case.
- Account details (optional). If you create an account: your email (or the email Apple shares, which can be a private relay address), your name, and your phone number if you add it. Your court record (wins, losses, streaks) and a list of your cases.
- Phone number of the person you sue (app only, optional). When you pick someone from your contacts, the app uses their number to address the iMessage. It is also sent to our server once, only to check whether that person has an account so we can notify them. We don't store it.
- Notification tokens. If you allow notifications, a token from Apple so we can send case updates to your phone. Removed when you sign out or delete your account.
- Reports and blocks. If you report a case, we keep the reason you picked, anything you add, and a copy of the case's title, names, claim and appeal text so we can review it. If you block someone, we keep their account ID and name on your account so their new cases against you are declined and they can't notify you.
- Filing limit. To stop abuse, we count how many cases each account, phone and network files. The phone is identified by a random ID the app makes up (not Apple's device or advertising ID), and it and your network address are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, for up to two days.
- Voice (optional). If you tap the microphone to say your side, Apple's speech recognition turns it into text, which may be processed by Apple. We receive only the text.
We don't collect your location, contacts list, photos, or advertising identifiers, and we don't use analytics or ad tracking.
How the AI judge works
To reach a verdict, the text of both sides is sent to an AI model provider (currently Google's Gemini; we may switch to Anthropic or xAI). They process it to generate the ruling under their API terms. We never send your email or phone number to them.
Before you first write anything for the court, the app and the case page ask you to agree to this. You're asked once per device or browser. If you don't agree, you can still read a case or decline it, and nothing you'd type is sent.
How long we keep things
- Arguments, answers and appeal text: deleted as soon as the verdict or dismissal lands.
- Case summary and ruling: deleted 30 days after the result.
- Your account and record: kept until you delete your account. Case titles leave your history after 30 days. The win or loss line stays so your record doesn't reset.
- Notifications inbox: 30 days.
- Reports: up to 1 year after review, then deleted. Blocks stay until you unblock or delete your account.
- On your phone: the app keeps your recent cases and record on the device. Deleting the app removes them.
Who can see what
- The other person sees your name, the case title, what you're suing for, your court record, and the ruling. They never see your side as you wrote it.
- Others never see your email or phone number.
- Anyone you share a case link or a record card with can see what that page shows.
Where it's stored
On Google Firebase servers in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Only the app's own server can read case data; phones can read only their own account.
Safety
If a case involves self-harm, abuse or danger, the court dismisses it instead of ruling and shows crisis resources. Its text is deleted the same way.
Anyone can report a case from the case screen (the flag at the top in the app, or "Report this case" on the web page). Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and we remove content and suspend accounts that break our Terms. You can block the other person in a case from the same menu, and unblock them from your account. The other person isn't told who reported them.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account anytime in the app: Account, then Delete account. This deletes your profile, record, history, notifications, blocks and sign-in.
- Turn off notifications in iPhone Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion at the email above. We'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Minnesota, or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights. Email us and we'll honor them. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
Children
The Judge is rated for ages 13 and up. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used it, email us and we'll delete their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
